Day 1 Pokhara To Chomrong

Day 2 Trek from Chomrong To Dovan

Day 3 Trek from Dovan to MBC

Day 4 Trek from MBC to ABC

Day 5 Trek from ABC to Bamboo

Day 6 Trek from Bamboo to Chomrong

Day 7 Trek from Chomrong To Mutkui. Drive to Pokhara.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1 : Pokhara to Chomrong via Jhinu

We drive to Jhinu after starting early in the morning from Pokhara. It will take 3 hours to reach Jhinu. And from Jhinu its and 3km uphill trek to Chomrong. We reach Chomrong before sunset.  

Day 2 : Chomrong To Dovan

Today is a long one. We descend down to new bridge. From there we will be ascending for almost two and a half hours till Upper Sinwa. From upper Sinwa the trail is almost downhill and flat till Dovan. Today we cover almost 14 km.  

Day 3 : Dovan To Machhapuchhare Base Camp

Passing through Himalaya Hotel, continue up the narrow valley to Deurali. Sticking to the west bank of the Modi River, enter an open valley near Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Total trekking distance today is approximately 14km which will take around 3 hours  

Day 4 : MBC To Annapurna Base Camp

Ascend further from Machhapuchhre Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp, the highest point of your trek. You can decide how your legs and your lungs are holding up. You may remain at Machhapuchhre Base Camp or stay at Annapurna Base Camp for the night. The views from both base camps are fantastic – all the hard work to get here is worth it! Total trekking distance today is approximately 5km which will take around 2 hours.  

Day 5 : ABC to Dovan

Wake up early for the beautiful sunrise view in Base Camp! You’re close enough now to (almost!) reach out and touch the peaks of Annapurna 1, Macchapucchhre, Annapurna South, Tent Peak, Gangapurna, Himchuli and Annapurna 3. After watching a sunrise on these snowy peaks, head back down the valley the same way to Dovan (or further if the knees can handle it). It’s a long day but you have plenty of time to get there.Total trekking distance today is approximately 14km which will take around 7 hours.  

Day 6 : Dovan To Chomrong

Passing back through the up and down staircases of Chhomrong, Total trekking distance today is approximately 14km which will take around 6 hours.  

Day 7 : Chomrong To Pokhara Via Jhinu Danda One hour steep downhill to Jhinu danda. Have a bath in the hot shower. We have to walk another 30min till Mutku to reach the roadhead. From there we will drive to pokhara. We reach pokhara by 4 PM.

HOW TO REACH

Nearest waypoint is Pokhara. You can either fly to Kathmandu and take a cab from there to reach Pokhara . Or you can cross the international border at Sunauli or Raxaul or Kakravitta and take a bus/ car from there to reach Pokhara .

FITNESS REQUIRED

You can start by jogging everyday. Start of slow with shorter distance & keep increasing it with each passing day. As it is a moderate level trek , we recommend a 45-60 day free hand workout schedule prior to this trek .

HIGHLIGHT OF THIS TREK

One of the most picturesque and popular trek in the Himalayas. Majestic views of Mt. Annapurna massif and Mt. Fishtail gives goosebumps. Submurging into local Nepali culture is another added bonus of this trek.

BEST TIME TO TREK

Two main seasons for ABC ie Summer and Post Monsoon. April and October – November is ideal. July is usually more colourful, a bit rainy and warmer Post monsoon is usually more sunny and cold

CONS

A bit crowded in the summer season

50 percent of the trail is stairs which will put your knees on a weeklong test

EQUIPMENT LIST

Sturdy trekking shoes with good grip, ankle support that can handle boulders firmly. Poncho is a must. a 50-60L rucksack, proper warm winter clothes like jacket, socks, thermals etc.
