DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1 : Early morning pickup from NJP Railway station . Drive to Manebhanjan which is the basecamp of Sandakphu (~ 120km , 4 hrs) . Proceed to Tumling after obtaining the permit . Change of vehicle in Manebhanjan. 1 hour or 11km drive in a 4×4 land rover , will take us to Tumling. Visit Tonglu on the way . Night Stay at Tumling .
We will visit Mirik lake , Simana Viewpoint on the way to Manebhanjan from NJP

Day 2 : Drive to Sandakphu after breakfast. It will take 5-6 hrs ( 21 km) depending on the road conditions and weather . We will visit Kalapokhri , Joubari , Gairibus village on the way .
Afternoon walk to Aal ( Sunset point of Sandakphu) . Night Stay at Sandakphu .

Day 3 : Exploration Day . Sunrise from Sandapku . Visit Phalut via thokum valley (42 Km updown) . Night Stay at Sandakphu .

Day 4 : Today we head back to NJP . After breakfast we start our journey to Manebhanjan. Vehicle Change at Manebhanjan . Drive to NJP via Mirik , Sukhiapokhari . Drop to NJP around 4-5 PM .

HOW TO REACH

Nearest airport to NJP is the Bagdogra Airport
which is located in the outskirts of the city.

Also NJP is well connected by trains from all over India & by bus from Kolkata . Our pickup and drop will be from the airport/railway station.

WHY THIS TRIP ?

Sandakphu-Phalut is a classic route which is ideal for off-road drives and high adrenaline rush . You will touch two summit points in a single trip , also you’ll get to see 4-5 8000m+ peaks from this route & no other trip routes in India offer the same thing. The Singalila national park in which the whole route lies is filled with beautiful old forests, gorgeous views of mountains, ridges , clear view from the summit & the sunrises-sunsets, ocean of clouds are just something not to forget for a lifetime.

BEST TIME FOR THIS TRIP

During oct-dec you’ll get clear mountain views & also beautiful sunrises & sunsets. Day temp 10-18 & night minus 2-5.

During January – early March there will be chances of snow. So if you want to witness the white side of the Singalila National Park then it’s the perfect time to give a visit. But the view of all the peaks can be uncertain.

During April you will get a forest full of rhododendron flowers & also there might be snow on the upper portion of this trek. Day temp 15-18 & night around 0°C
