SHORT ITINERARY

DAY 1 Drive to VISWEMA from DIMAPUR, and stay at a hotel in VISWEMA.

DAY 2 Drive to the end of the motorable road and Trek to DZUKOU VALLEY.

DAY 3 Stay and Explore DZUKOU VALLEY.

DAY 4 Trek back to VISWEMA, drive to KOHIMA and stay at a hotel in KOHIMA.

DAY 5 Drop after Breakfast by 11 am for DIMAPUR

LONG ITINERARY

DAY 1 Drive to VISWEMA from DIMAPUR, stay.

The distance between DIMAPUR to VISWEMA is around 90km
(3 hours drive). Stay in a hotel at VISWEMA.

DAY 2 Trek to DZUKOU VALLEY

Drive to the end of the motorable road (2km) and start walking towards the DZUKOU VALLEY.
The trail starts with a steep hike for about 3-4 km through stone-carved stairs that lead you to the top of the valley.
From here on there is a long and flat walk in the valley towards the trekker’s hut (5km).
Stay in cottages/tents

Day 3 Stay and explore DZUKOU VALLEY

After an early breakfast head out to discover the valley. The descent from the trekker’s hut will lead you to the heart of the Valley. Exploring the wide range of flora and fauna with streams and caves in the valley will give you a nice memory for your lifetime. There are lots of caves in the valley, one such famous cave known as BHOOT GUFA or GHOST CAVES is just 15 minutes away from the camp side.

DAY 4 Trek back to VISWEMA. Drive to KOHIMA, stay.

After breakfast, we will trek back to VISWEMA and drive to KOHIMA, around 24km (1 hr).
Stay at a hotel in KOHIMA and explore.

DAY 5 Drop after breakfast by 11 am to DIMAPUR

Get up early to explore a last bit of KOHIMA.
After breakfast we will drive back to DIMAPUR.

HOW TO REACH

The only Airport and Railway station is at Dimapur.

FITNESS REQUIRED

You can start by jogging everyday and 20-30 minutes free hand workout for at least 30 days.

BEST TIME TO TREK

The best time to do Dzukou Valley trek is during the month of May-January. Although you can visit the valley throughout the year but the trek is mostly famous as a Monsoon trek

Challenging terrains- The trek involve Steep ascends and descends, rocky paths and slippery trails.

Limited Facilities – The infrastructure of Dzukou Valley trekkers hut is relatively basic with limited accomodation and facilities available.
